When only the Heaviest Duty Casters will Suffice

RWM Kingpinless

RWM KingpinlessThe patterned RWM "Kingpinless" caster rig is the first real breakthrough in the caster industry since the introduction of cold forged rigs.

Why Kingpin Caster Rigs Fail:

When a kingpin caster rig is subjected to a direct load force, because of the offset lead on casters, all the load is supported on the rear portion of the bearing raceway. When this caster encounters an obstruction such as a door sill, the thrust forces cause front portion of the raceway to want to tear away from the yoke. The only element holding the rig together is the kingpin. The tremendous pressure on the kingpin eventually forces it to stretch, bend, or break, leaving the caster inoperative.

WHY "KINGPINLESS" RIGS WORK:

The unique patented design offered in the RWM "Kingpinless" rig provides customers with a superior caster. If you look at the cross section of the swivel area, note how the ball bearings are encapsulated in the offset raceway. When a load is placed on the caster, the load force is initially transmitted to the rear bearings. Having the ball bearings ride on an incline, they will want to climb that incline. As this action takes place, part of the load is shifted around to the forward bearing surface.

Benefits Of The Kingpinless Design:

  • A Reduction In Caster Failure
  • Easier Swiveling Motion
  • Longer Offset Leads
  • Reduced Caster Shimmy & Shake
  • Ideal For Abusive Power towing

The RWM "Kingpinless" caster provides for less equipment downtime, maintence, and is an excellent value, over the lifespan of your mobile equipment. This patented caster is only available from licensed RWM caster distributors.
